The 737PRH makes 737 performance transparent and understandable to pilots like me, for whom performance has always been some kind of black hole.  I finally got to understand some perf issues that have been obscure to me for many years !  The book comes in handy format and excellent layout.  Well done, Maurits, I recommend your guide to all 737 pilots !

I bought the "Performance Reference Handbook". The book is brilliant! It is the best Performance book I have ever held in my hands. Anyone who is interested in the subject (and I bet many are) must buy that book!

Das ist mal wieder etwas für die Spezialisten unter den Piloten, oder Jene, die sich schon immer mit dem Thema Performance etwas schwer getan haben, und damit ist es ein großer Leserkreis.Viele Themen des alltäglichen Lebens eines Boeing 737-Piloten werden anhand von Beispielen und guten grafischen Darstellungen erklärt. Neben den wichtigsten speeds wie V1/R/2 geht der Autor auf alle relevanten Fakten für die Startberechnung ein. Nach dem Start werden Steig-, Reise- und Sinkflug erläutert. Wie eben performance ist, sind viele Berechnungsformeln und Graphen in die gut verständlichen Textteile eingebaut. Der Autor zeigt oft die Wege, die zu den verschiedenen Fragen über Leistungsdaten aufkommen. Z.b. wie sich die Startstrecke ergibt, oder immer wieder beliebt, die Berechnung des go around Gradienten oder der Bremsleistung bei nasser oder vereister Bahn. Das Buch hält sich strikt an JAA und EASA, was bedeutet, dass es kompatibel mit den meisten Flughandbüchern ist und eine gute Ergänzung für den interessierten Linienflieger, wie auch den gerade eingestiegenen „jung ATPLer“.

The PRH is a clear exposition about performance in general and B737NG performance issues in particular. If you want to brush-up your performance knowledge, or if you simply want to have a complete overview on the subject, this is the book to buy!
